This is the story of the London French, an amateur rugby team at Barnes in South West London. The team was formed in 1959 when a group of older stagiaires from the French Lycée in London decided that the unadventurous style of English rugby was not to their liking. Today they still espouse the French traditions of open stylish rugby that likes to take risks. The club’s social ethos is paramount and they constantly strive to ensure they are a social club that plays rugby as opposed to the opposite. The players of London French are professionals, businessmen, scholars and such like who have all the passion for this sport, although they do not make a living out of it. This is what this project is all about: pushing the limits, running the risks, embracing life as it is - with all the struggle and fight in the mud. It is about the love for a sport - rugby.
